Texting takes practice, too.

Pluck is a daily texting game. Someone texts you first, you write every word back, and a coach marks each message and shows you the line where it turned.

Today’s scene

One scene a day, the same one the app is playing.

0 / 320

One text, marked on the spot. No app needed. The characters are AI. 18+ only; Pluck may not be suitable for minors.

One email when it opens. Nothing else, ever.

  • You write every word. Pluck never writes your replies.
  • The characters are AI. Every conversation says so.
  • A mark on every text. Brilliant to Blunder, and the line where it turned.

You read the convo, write every word yourself, and Pluckie marks each message like a chess game.

The app

One conversation a day, on your phone.

An iPhone app, in beta now. You text an AI character, and Pluck marks what you send. It never writes your replies.

The breakdown: a mark on every text, and the line where it turned.
See where it turnedA mark on every text.

Screens are from a demo account. The numbers in them aren’t anyone’s real results.

The marks

Six rungs, on every message you send.

In a round, the mark follows the character: how far their interest moved after your text, capped when a text plays it safe. One line per round is flagged as the turn.

!!Brilliant

Their interest jumped.

!Strong

It went up.

=Held

Nothing moved.

?!Risky

Could have gone either way.

?Slip

It dropped.

??Blunder

It dropped hard.

Coral is kept for one job: the Blunder that turned the round. A round with four red marks points at nothing.

Who you text

Eight people, all of them AI.

Each has a life, a job and a way of texting, so you learn the person as well as the move. You’ll meet one every day.

Bring in a real one

Screenshot the convo.

Paste a conversation you’re actually in, or screenshot it. Pluck reads how it moved and where it stalled, then builds you a round shaped like your own situation.

  1. Names and numbers out
  2. Counting both sides
  3. Finding where it turned
  4. Picking your round
The words are read on your phone.

The pictures are never uploaded, kept, or seen by us.

It won’t tell you what they’re thinking.

Nobody can read that off a screenshot. It tells you what was in the conversation, and what your own messages did.

Your words stay yours.

The round you get is written with Pluck’s own characters, and none of your words are in it.

Questions

Before you ask.

Does it write my texts?

No. Never. You write every word. It reads what you sent and marks it.

Is the person real?

No. Every character you text on Pluck is AI, played for practice, and the app says so in every conversation.

What does it actually measure?

Each message you send gets one of six marks. One line per round is flagged as the turn. Over time it names the habit, counted from your own replies.

Who am I texting?

One of eight AI characters, each with a life of their own: a spin instructor, a gig photographer, a line cook, a junior doctor and more. One of them texts you each day.

What is today’s scene?

The same scene the app is playing today, in one move. Write the text you’d send and it’s marked on the spot. Then dare a friend to beat it. Your text is marked and then dropped; only the mark is kept.

Who is it for?

Adults. Pluck is 18+ only and may not be suitable for minors.

What happens to my email?

We use it to tell you when Pluck opens, and for updates about it. Nothing else. See the privacy policy.

Nobody tells you why your chat died.

Pluck does. One conversation a day, and a mark on every message you send.

One email when it opens. Nothing else, ever.
